    Report on the Homeless in the Tri-Cities April – September 2006
    Details the results of the first 6 months of outreach to homeless persons in the Tri-Cities by the Hope For Freedom Society.  Provides information on where homeless people live in the Tri-Cities, where they are from, their needs, barriers and demographics and the successes and failures of the pilot outreach program.

    Homeless Voices - Part 1: What We Heard from Metropolitan Vancouver Residents Who Have Experienced Homelessness
    The purpose of this report prepared for the Greater Vancouver Shelter Strategy is to present the perspectives of people who have experienced being without a home so that decision makers can respond to homelessness more effectively. Outreach workers conducted interviews with 34 people in communities across Metropolitan Vancouver, including 13 women and 9 people who identified themselves as Aboriginal. Each of these people had experienced homelessness in the past 2 years.

    This third round of Homeless Voices interviews was designed to gather input on questions
    related to draft recommendations in the Call to Action. These recommendations came
    from the Creating Housing Choice forum, 3 days of dialogue among over 100 people.
    Outreach workers conducted interviews with 42 people in communities across Metro
    Vancouver, including women, youth, seniors and people who identified themselves as
    Aboriginal. Each was currently with no fixed address or had experienced homelessness
    in the past 2 years.

    The purpose of the Shelter Strategy is to plan for the shelter system in Greater Vancouver over a 10-year horizon, recognizing the links between shelters and permanent housing.

    seasonal shelters, transition houses, youth shelters and safe houses.

    3 Ways to Home: Regional Homelessness Plan for Greater Vancouver - Report
    The Regional Steering Committee on Homelessness developed and oversees the implementation of the Regional Homelessness Plan for Greater Vancouver. The Regional Homelessness Plan is titled Three Ways to Home to reflect the three components of a comprehensive solution to homelessness: affordable housing, support services, and adequate income.
