The Tri-Cities Homelessness Task Group is a voluntary association of community stakeholders with an interest in addressing the challenges of homelessness in the Tri-Cities community of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.  Its overarching role is to identify and advocate for the actions necessary to eliminate homelessness in the Tri-Cities while expanding services to those who are homeless, and to coordinate the activities of organizations that are addressing these gaps.  The membership includes a broard cross-section of the Tri-Cities community.

The specific role of the Tri-Cities Homelessness Task Group, criteria for membership, leadership and the process for decision making are established in the Terms of Reference.

The membership of the Task Group meets once per month in a plenary session to update members on activities of the Task Group, make decisions and coordinate activities.  However, the real work of the Task Group is done in subcommittees – working groups which meet monthly to pursue specific objectives.  There are currently 5 subcommittees:
      - Addictions-Mental Health
      - Advocacy
      - Facilities
      - Services
      - Youth

The subcommittees are responsible for carrying out the actions assigned to them in the annual action plan (see “What We Do”).

The current Chair of the Tri-Cities Homelessness Task Group is Sandy Burpee.
